The Avia S.199 was a Czechoslovakian development of the Bf 109G

Following the end of World War 2, the Avia factory at Prague-Cakovice retained possession of a large stock of Messerschmitt Bf 109G components.[1] After using these to produce a number of S.99 single seaters, a fire destroyed the remaining stocks of Daimler Benz DB 605 engines, prompting adaptation of the airframe to accept the Junkers Jumo 211F bomber engine, which was available in large numbers.
